I don't really know if they should get out or not... I can't seem to form an opinion on it. If I were a soldier there I would personally want out. But they are there to keep things in order, are they not, who knows what would happen if they are not there. |

| That's the thing. If they don't care for our troops to be there, what obligations do we have to have them stay there? NONE. It just pisses me off how they can just turn around and protest against us after all we've done for them. It especially pisses me off to see them burn our flag!!! For what? Because of some auto accident in which two American soldiers were at fault? Kiss my ass! Accidents happen all the time no matter where you are in the world, get use to it!
Speaking of technology, S. Korea wouldn't be thriving as it is today without the aid of America. And this is the thanks we get?
If S. Korea wants to be wussies and buy their protections from the North with their bribes and the so-called "Sunshine" policy, then let them. But at the same time, get our troops out of there so that even if the South do get nuked by their pesky neighbors to the north, no American lives would be loss in vain. That's just want I think, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. |

I'm not sure if I fully agree with that statement. Yes, war pushes technology so that new weapons can be built, surveillance can get better, etc. . . Yes, technology wouldn't be where it is without war since technology has helped enhance the methods of modern warfare. Therefore the two (war and technology) have a relationship with each other, but I think that technology could continue to develop in a way that pushes itself to the limit without war. It's just that it would be applied differently. For example the medical field, industrial production, human curiosity and ingenuity are a few things that push technology to its limit.
As far as the original question of whether we should pull our troops out, I say yes. I'd rather spend our money developing our country and providing more social benefits for people. For being the world hegemony, we have a shitty quality of life. Our healthcare system blows ass, our unemployment rate is high, our housing conditions for the poor are atrocious, and the list goes on. We should stop meddling in others domestic problems and pay attention to our own domestic problems. |
