| Killzone 3's reveal is pure and simple. There are no pre-renders and no false promises, and frankly it plays so well right now it doesn't need them.
....it's certainly more responsive than before. It's put to the test by level design that seems to favour more direct shoot-outs than the cowering gunfights of Killzone 2, but when cover is required it now seems more reliable and intuitive, and snapping behind objects is a much swifter experience.

| | | I still haven't played killzone 2 yet lol. I've got it right on my desk. But as I am free now since I finished my exam, i'm definently going to try it out! |

| | Killzone 2 is one of my very favorite games. Classic old school FPS gameplay with awesome visuals. |

| doesnt look much better than killzone 2, they said something about more vibrant colors and such, let's see exactly how good this can look.
I mean they got naughty dog helping them quite a bit, you can see the snow effects look almost exactly like uncharted 2.
they also state more open ended levels, not just a corridor crawl and fully destructable enviorments, i'll belive those statements when i actually see it in action. |
|
| | | Killzone 2 is a very good looking game though, so I guess it's more polishing on gameplay mechanics. |

| | I couldn't get through more than an hour of KZ2. I should have returned the game really. I might give it another chance as I probably wasn't in the right mood for the game type, but it just rubbed me the wrong way with it's depressing blandness and repetitiveness. Hopefully this one is better, although, I'll make sure I try before buying this time. |

| Saxdawg, I really don't think any of us 'xbots' are riled up by the game, it seems like it could be good; I myself found Killzone 2 like a cross between Halo and CoD, but not as fun as Halo simply because Halo has a non-serious air to it.
Hopefully they’ll get it right this time.
EDIT: The second shot looks as if it could be Lost Planet 2 if it still retained its snow environments. |

| HELL YES.
Honestly, the only thing I want them to change is add split-screen, but I don't have my hopes up. WTF is with this gen not giving me games I can play socially instead of only online? When friends come over, we still pull out the Cube for Smash Bros or Timesplitters.
(Yes, I realize Bungie is one of the few devs this gen that hasn't cut out local multiplayer.) |
|
| | | Do you have MotorStorm: Pacific Rift, Resistance 2, and Warhawk? I think those all have split-screen play. Resident Evil 5 also has split screen co-op. The 360 also has some nice co-op split screen games. |

| | I hope they change the controls. Killzone 2 had some of the best graphics this gen and a nice assortment of weapons, but I was unhappy with the heavy, sluggish feeling control scheme. Realistic perhaps, given that guns are heavy and soldiers turn slowly in full combat gear, but just not my taste in shooters. I prefer fast twitch, arcade style controls like in CS, L4D, and the Unreal games. Maybe Killzone just isn't the shooter franchise for me. |
